Carson
City, NV –
After a
three week break, 19 year-old Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
engineering student Bobby Hodges will return to NASCAR action
this weekend with the Western Late Models and Westcar Late
Model Series at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif.
Hodges is
touring up-and-down
California
in search of points for the NASCAR California State title. The
season has started off slowly as the
Nevada
Automotive
Test Center team has worked to dial in their new #88
Chevrolet.
Saturday’s
events at All American
Speedway
on the one-third mile asphalt oval should be a good
opportunity for Hodges to get his season back on the right
foot.
Despite
running in the top-ten in all five starts this year, Hodges
only has two top-ten finishes to show for it.
In his
previous effort at All American on March 28, Hodges had to
surrender a fifth place run in the first 44 lap event due to
mechanical failure.
After
charging from 17th to 8th in the first
11 laps of the second feature, Hodges was gathered up in an
accident that ended his night.
A 100 lap
event is on tap for Saturday night’s action. Hodges has
competed in over a dozen events of that distance in his
career. He had a pair of seconds and a pair of fourths in 100
lap events at Altamont Raceway Park in 2008.
Racing
action gets started around 6 p.m. on Saturday night. All
American Speedway is located on the Placer County Fairgrounds
in Roseville, Calif.
